Inés in the Erasmus+ with destination Ireland

On the 28th, we went to Cork, another famous city. First, we took a train to get there and went to a market where I ate a burger and some sweets, including a cookie and a strawberry cake. Then, we walked around the city and went into several souvenir shops. There I bought some gifts for my parents and went to visit the most famous places in that city. I visited some churches, cathedrals and I went to a well-known English market. In that market there was an beautiful fountain with a lot of plants. That day I had a great time because I saw many new places.

I visited the cliffs of Moher. There I could see three islands called Inisheer, Inishmaan and Inishmore. In this islands they speak Irish and it is very common to go in summer to learn more of this language. I was walking around and I noticed that there were a lot of cows and sheep in the pasture. One of the things that makes this cliffs famous apart from the stunning views is that scenes from the film Harry Potter were filmed on these cliffs. Later I ate an ice cream and I bought a souvenir postcard to send to my parents who are from Spain.

 In the morning I went to the supermarket to buy some food. There in a bar I ate a pancake with Nutella and strawberries and drank hot chocolate with marshmallows. Later,  I walked two huskies for an hour and a half I visited some ruins that served to protect the city. After the long walk I went to a concert by an Irish band. This band was playing the songs of their new album that if you wanted yo could buy along with other things like T-shits, jumpers or CD in a separate room. The concert was very nice and I enjoyed a lot. 

 This day I did a lot of things. First, I went to school and I did Wood Technology. This is a subject that is only taught this year in school. For me, is one of my favorite subjects because I had never seen anything like this before in Spain. I really enjoyed it because the teacher was very nice and I like subjects in school that are not about memorizing or studying all the time. Later, I went to brush dancing. This dance is special because you dance with a broom and is originally from Ireland. You need to wear special shoes and consists of a dancer jumping over a broomstick with Irish music.

 This day I had musical class at first hour. In this subject we dance, we sing and the most important thing is that we act. That day I learned a new dance to do in the musical because in December they are going to perform a musical. After class I went to the hurling pitch because my friends wanted to play hurling. So I bought some food in a tiny shop near the school. Finally, I played board games with my host-family and I taught them a Spanish card game that I often play with my grandparents when I am in Spain.

 This day in the morning I went mountain biking with the school. There were many routes to do with the bicycle depending on the level you have. There were two teachers who explained to all the students how to use this type of bicycle because it had some differences compared to the bicycle we used to use. I really enjoyed in this activity because it was very exciting to do the different routes.  Later, I went climbing with all my Erasmus partners and during these in this two hours we climbed a wall and did some archery. It was my first time doing archery but I did pretty good.

 This day was different from other days because I went to the Ploughing Championships 2025. This is a championship very popular in Ireland because a lot of teenagers go every year. If you want to go, you need to wear some boots because there is a lot of mud. First, I woke up at 4:45 am because we needed to catch the train. After two trains and one bus I arrived at the place where the championship was celebrated. There was a lot of shops selling T-shirt and with famous people. There was many tractors and different food stalls. I ate a hamburger and finally I came home.

This day I went to Woodlands house. There they gave me a tour and explained to me a lot of things. First, before visiting the hotel and the restaurant, I saw some goats, donkeys, peacocks and chickens. They were very cute. Later, the tour guide showed me the restaurant, which is one of the few that has zero waste. In the garden there were a lot of apple trees and tomatoes. There were a lot of solar panels too. These solar panels covered 60% of all the energy produced by the hotel at Woodlands house. After the tour, I visited a ruined castle. This castle was very big and had with nice views.
